In recent years, we have said hello and goodbye to various governmental plans with numerous acronyms. Ling: BN to win because ‘money spent’

Barisan Nasional (BN) could win the general elections because of unprecedented spending on the public, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik told Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily in an interview published today.“I think BN can still win, because the government is spending money non-stop under different names, and this has never happened before,” he told Sin Chew in an exclusive interview.Recently, the government has been spending heavily on various schemes to aid the public, including book vouchers for students and Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (BR1M).

Najib to announce more ‘good’ news?

Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak will announce a “good news” for the people, including for some 40,000 taxi drivers, said his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin.Speaking at a function in Sungai Petani this morning, Muhyiddin however refused to divulge more details but promised that it would be a move to lessen the burden of the people.“I would love to share this good news right now. I guess it is best for us to wait for the prime minister to make the announcement,” he was quoted as saying by news reports.

Rating for Najib increased to 69%

A recent poll by the Merdeka Centre revealed that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s approval rating has soared to 69% from 59% in August 2011.In a statement today, the polling agency said Najib’s ratings soared due to the improving economic outlook and his “Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia” (BR1M) monetary aid for lower income families.In his Budget 2012 speech last year, Najib announced that families earning less than RM3,000 a month would get RM500 one-off aid.

Orang asli miskin gagal perolehi B1RM

Seorang penduduk Orang Asli dari suku Temuan kecewa bahawa permohonan Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M)  beliau telah ditolak walaupun beliau tidak mempunyai sebarang pendapatan.Dewi Malam, 52, dari Kampung Orang Asli Pulau Kempas di Hulu Langat, Selangor, berkata beliau menerima jawapan daripada Kementerian Kewangan pada 16 Februari yang mengatakan bahawa beliau tidak layak untuk menerima bantuan berkenaan.

Jenis kenderaan tentukan kelulusan B1RM

Jenis kereta yang dimiliki seseorang boleh menjadi faktor penentu sama ada mereka layak untuk menerima Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia Rakyat (BR1M).Banyak permohonan telah ditolak kerana pemohon memiliki kenderaan yang melebihi kapasiti enjin yang ditetapkan.Timbalan Menteri Kewangan Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai berkata mereka yang memiliki kereta Proton atau Perodua (yang didaftarkan antara 2007 dan 2011) lebih daripada 1,600 cc dan kereta jenama lain (yang berdaftar dari 2007 hingga 2011) dengan kapasiti enjin lebih 1,500cc tidak layak untuk mendapat bantuan.

Tengahari Isnin lalu, pintu pagar kediaman saya digoncang kuat. Seorang peniaga akhbar lama tercegat menanti. “Harga sekarang turun sikit, tapi untuk taukeh kita kira harga lama,” katanya, merujuk timbunan suratkhabar lama setinggi enam kaki di halaman rumah. “Okey, ambiklah,” balas saya selepas mengecam lelaki Tionghua dalam usia 30-an itu. Dia bagai pembeli tetap akhbar dan majalah lama saya.

SPRM pertahan B1RM bukan rasuah

Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) pada Selasa menafikan dakwaan pihak tertentu kononnya Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) sebanyak RM500 adalah rasuah dari Kerajaan.Ketua Pesuruhjayanya Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed berkata bantuan itu adalah untuk meringankan beban rakyat terutama golongan miskin.”Itu (BR1M) bukan rasuah,” kata beliau semasa sesi soal jawab mengenai ‘Memperkukuh Integriti dan Menghapus Penipuan Perolehan’ pada Forum Perolehan Kebangsaan untuk Sektor Awam dan Swasta 2012 di sini.

Keluh rakyat berpendapatan lebih RM3k

Kebelakangan ini, galak sungguh pihak kerajaan pemerintah pimpinan Barisan Nasional memperkenalkan pelbagai inisiatif mudah, mesra kepada golongan yang pendapatan isi rumah mereka kurang daripada RM3000.Saya tidak mempersoalkan tindakan tersebut malah menyokong segala inisiatif yang diadakan kerana itu adalah tanggungjawab kerajaan yang memerintah apabila diberi undi oleh rakyat, iaitu untuk memakmurkan kehidupan rakyat yang memilihnya.
